What is Brachioplasty?  

Brachioplasty, commonly known as an arm lift, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms. Under general anaesthetic, an incision is made (typically along the inner side of the upper arm) to grant access to the skin and fat below. Once any excess has been removed, the remaining skin is pulled taut and sutured to create a firmer aesthetic look. During the surgery, the underlying tissues of the arms are also tightened to enhance the desired contour. This is achieved by using sutures to reshape and redistribute the remaining tissue, resulting in a more natural and proportional arm appearance.  

For some patients a minimal scar approach is possible through the use of VASERlipo and RENUVION. Your surgeon will discuss this option with you if appropriate. The surgeon makes an incision typically along the inner side of the upper arm (between the biceps and triceps). Excess skin and fat are removed, and the remaining skin is tightened and smoothed. Underlying tissues are also tightened with sutures to create a more defined contour. In suitable cases, a minimal-scar approach using VASERlipo and RENUVION may be discussed.
