Designed to improve the texture and appearance of facial skin, without considerable downtime. This lunchtime treatment is an excellent starting point if you’ve not had a peel before, or is a wonderful way to revealing refreshed skin more regularly.

Medical grade peels

At Adnova, we are able to offer multiple medical grade chemical peels that can be tailored to your specific skin needs and treatments. Each peel has its own uses and benefits and downtime and aftercare will vary. A consultation with our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner will allow a bespoke treatment plan to be created.

What’s in a chemical skin peel?

Chemical peels are treatments that involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin. They can be made from various active ingredients, each selected for their method of action, desired depth of treatment and area of skin being treated. At Adnova clinic we are able to offer chemical peels from very superficial to medium/deep. We are also able to offer Cosmelan and Dermamelan pigmentation specialist peels. Aftercare following a chemical skin peel

Following a chemical peel, you may notice that the skin at the affected area is more sensitive. Exposure to sunlight should be avoided and SPF applied to mitigate the effects. Medical Grade skincare may also be recommended to help to sooth the skin and lessen the downtime. However, peeling agents should be avoided. Your clinician will advise you on the best care strategy post-peel, as well as how long aftercare should last.

I took my daughter to Adnova to see Mr Biggs about a nasty hockey injury to her nose. After an excellent consultation, she decided to go ahead with the surgery. On arrival, the Adnova team was incredibly friendly and efficient. She was particularly nervous about the anaesthesia, but her anaesthetist Marcus Fletcher was outstanding with her. His calm manner and gentle confidence was exactly what she needed. We were sent home same day with everything we needed to keep her comfortable at home and the results have been amazing. The piezo method used by Mr Biggs meant that bruising and swelling was limited and her confidence has re-emerged. I had definitely underestimated the incredible effect this kind of surgery can have on self-confidence. Amazing clinic, Fantastic staff all round!

The effects of chemical skin peels are not permanent, although they can be very long lasting. Typically, more superficial skin peels can be repeated more frequently, every four weeks depending on treatment goal.
