Thigh lifts – simple aesthetic treatment

Many individuals struggle with loose and sagging skin around the thighs. A thigh lift, also known as thighplasty, is a surgical procedure that aims to reshape and tighten the thigh area. Getting results from thigh lift surgery can lead to increased confidence, increased comfort and a more positive outlook on life.

Why should I get this treatment?

If you are considering thigh lift surgery, it’s important to understand the objectives of the treatment. The procedure is intended for those that have an excess amount of fat and skin around the thigh area, resulting in a flabby appearance. This can occur when someone has lost lots of weight, as the skin loses its elasticity. In these cases, the thigh skin may also appear discoloured or lumpy, with rashes likely due to chaffing. Our expert surgeons not only remove this tissue, they also smooth and contour the skin of your thighs to achieve an aesthetic look.

What happens during a thigh lift?

During a thigh lift procedure, the surgeon will make incisions in strategic locations to access the underlying tissues. The excess skin and fat are then removed, and the remaining skin is carefully repositioned and sutured to create a smoother and more toned appearance. For some patients a minimal scar approach is possible through the use of VASER and RENUVION, your surgeon will discuss this option with you if appropriate for you.

  • You smoke regularly.
  • You are significantly overweight or underweight or your weight has been fluctuating drastically in the last year.
  • You have any underlying medical conditions or health concerns that might complicate the recovery process.

It is advised that patients who smoke should stop in the lead-up to the surgery to promote better healing afterwards. It may also be necessary to stop taking certain medications, or adjust the levels of the medication to reduce the risk of complication.
